Moravské Budějovice – The winning design of the first architectural competition in Moravské Budějovice in the Třebíč region includes the demolition of the original kindergarten and the construction of a new building. In the competition, which aimed to select the design for the Husova Kindergarten to expand its capacity, the proposal by Martina Grimmová triumphed. The town hall will negotiate with her about a contract for further design work, said Deputy Mayor Jan Švaříček to ČTK.
The Moravské Budějovice kindergarten is intended for 235 children, with classes housed in three buildings. The facility on Husova Street was created by combining two privately owned villas. According to Švaříček, its layout was not suitable for the operation of a kindergarten from the start. For this reason, the architects had the option to work with the volume of the original building or propose a new structure.
The winning proposal includes a new building. "Thanks to this, a beautiful large garden was created behind the kindergarten, shielded from street noise and the intersection. Thus, the kindergarten serves as a noise barrier for the garden and areas for outdoor activities. At the same time, they managed to beautifully complete the street in a way that urban planning in the city should probably proceed," said Švaříček.
The planned construction costs amount to 48 million crowns. The building should be a wooden structure built on a foundation slab made from precast components. Construction is set to begin no earlier than 2026.
The town hall intends to introduce the competition and its designs to the public on July 25 in the castle stables. The designs will then be on display for another 14 days.
