On Wednesday, June 3, 2015, the Faculty of Architecture at VUT in Brno will host the ninth edition of the revitalized student competition Bohuslav Fuchs Prize for the best studio project. The event is organized by the Student Council of the Faculty of Architecture (SOFA) under the patronage of the faculty dean. The award is presented twice a year, in the winter and summer semesters. The awarded works are selected by an invited jury composed of three recognized personalities from the architectural scene, who do not work at FA VUT, and three holders of this award from the previous semester. The jury will include Ondřej Císler, Pavla Melková, Michal Palaščák, Martin Bělkovský, Tereza Novotná, and Jan Kubát. The author of this year's graphics is David Zatloukal. The ceremonial announcement of the awarded works will take place on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at 6:00 PM in the faculty premises. Afterward, there will be an open discussion about the awarded projects accompanied by musical entertainment and refreshments provided by the recent graduates of the bachelor's and master's levels. The organization SOFA was founded in 2009 by a group of students. It is an independent civic association whose purpose is to organize lectures, workshops, student events, and other activities targeted at students of FA VUT. The association is supported by companies Xella, Sonberk, Vizarch, Legia, the Faculty of Architecture VUT in Brno, and the Brno University of Technology, with the media partners of the event being the professional magazine ERA21 and archiweb.
