Havlíčkův Brod - Havlíčkův Brod is planning to organize an architectural competition for a new swimming pool. It has signed a contract with CBArchitektura s. r. o. The competition conditions are expected to be published within five months. Zuzana Melounová, the spokesperson for the town hall, informed ČTK about this. According to the contract register, the contract is worth 500,000 crowns excluding VAT. The city wants to know the winner of the competition next summer.
"This competition represents a significant step forward in our efforts to modernize the city’s infrastructure and ensure quality leisure opportunities for our citizens. We already know that it will be one of the largest investment projects in the city’s history. For this reason, we have decided to have the architectural competition organized by experts," said the mayor of Havlíčkův Brod, Zbyněk Stejskal (ODS).
The city has had an indoor swimming pool since 1998. The deteriorated condition reflects the quality of construction and the fact that salty water was used in the pool instead of the original chlorinated water. Instead of repairing it, the city wants to build a new pool on vacant land in the area of the summer swimming pool near Chotěbořská Street. According to earlier estimates from the town hall, the costs will be between 400 and 500 million crowns.
