1st place: 3,000,000 CZK Author: William Matthews Associates / William Matthews, David Walker Jury evaluation: - a solid and memorable object emphasizing the client's identity - the urban and volumetric solution of the three objects respects the proposed regulation - contemporary architectural expression referencing the industrial poetry of railway buildings - the depth of the tracts allows good lighting of workplaces - the dimension and construction of the connecting bridge need to be verified in the next phase - timeless execution of the interior solution of the entrance lobby - simple and effective structural and material solution - suitable placement of photovoltaic panels
2nd place: 2,000,000 CZK Author: Atelier M1 architekti, s.r.o. / Mgr. akad.arch. Pavel Joba, Ing.arch. Jan Hájek, Ing.arch. Jakub Havlas, MgA. Vojtěch Šaroun Jury evaluation: - very convincing urban and volumetric solution with a solid street front - height-appropriate, while having dominant height accents - solidity of architectural expression referencing classic order - high quality of the spatial solution and offices around the perimeter of the floor plan - great potential for universal and variable interior layout solutions - higher proportion of relatively unused space within the tract, including communications - solution of the northern piazza with the main entrance to the building is a significant urban act - shows the potential of the viaduct and public spaces in the southern part - the solution of the facade of object A at the ramp and the placement of the sidewalk along the platform is debatable - the ratio of volumes and areas is effective and there is spatial reserve
3rd place: 1,000,000 CZK Author: PERSPEKTIV/GRIDO /Ing.arch. Martin Stára, Ing.arch. Peter Sticzay-Gromski ng.arch. Ján Antal, Ing. Michal Rulc, Ing.arch. Sebastian Sticzay, Ing.arch. Silvia Snopková, MgA. Jakub Herza Jury evaluation: - urban and volumetric solution with shaping of mass into smaller objects - towers - very civil expression, which is simultaneously memorable and unique - well-solved shading of the object with a continuous console and a projected blind - very good vertical connectivity between floors, poorer horizontal permeability - well-developed outdoor atriums and roof gardens - simple and effective construction and material solution - quality spatial solution with great variability of arrangements - the solution of the sidewalk around the tracks is debatable
Reward: 500,000 CZK Author: Pelčák a partner architekti, s.r.o. / Prof. Ing.arch. Petr Pelčák Jury evaluation: - convincing and strong urban gesture with a dominant tower - the mass design exceeds the recommended regulation, but can justify itself in the overall context - facade solutions with traditional and industrial compositional elements - high-quality and timeless material solution with unpretentious details - volumetrically, spatially, structurally, and economically effective solution - generous entrance foyer and internal atrium illuminating interior tracts - very elaborated and variable spatial solution - very high-quality processing of public spaces in connection with the station and terminal - great reserve for further stages of the project in the location of objects A and B
Reward: 500,000 CZK Author: Ing.arch. Petr Šuma, Ing.arch. Pavel Fajfr Jury evaluation: - maximum utilization of possible building volume - very dynamic design with an effective railway element - identification of the client - adheres to building regulations but is unnecessarily complicated in the street front - spatial solution in places with curved facades needs to be refined - most workplaces with sufficient natural light - generous solution of roof terraces with extensive roofs - photovoltaic panels integrated into the facade
