12th year of the Xella student competition 2006/2007

MOTTO: "Urban and functional regulations set by territorial planning documentation do not always guarantee the ideal functioning of a territorial unit or its part."

The company Xella is organizing the 12th annual student competition, this time on the topic of The Gardens of the Eggenberg Brewery in Český Krumlov; incorporating new construction into the historical part of the urban conservation area.

The primary task for the participants is the urban and architectural solution of the brewery gardens of the Eggenberg Brewery, including new construction, revitalization of the left bank Náplavka area, linking significant public green areas in the city center, and a new pedestrian bridge over the Vltava River. This is a theoretical school assignment that is not in accordance with the current territorial planning documentation and does not take into account ownership relations to the land.

The competition runs until February 7, 2007. The winner will receive €1,000, €500, or €300.
