Prague - Unconventional views from a hundred Prague towers are now available to internet users. The shots of the capital city from a bird's eye perspective can also be panned and zoomed. The project was presented to journalists today by the deputy mayor Rudolf Blažek (ODS). Interested parties can find the virtual tour on the website http://stovezata.praha.eu.

Out of several hundred Prague towers, the organizers selected one hundred of the most important ones with interesting histories. They captured views from places that are not accessible to the average person. "We visited places where no one had been for sometimes even decades,” explained Jaroslav Hora from the company Panoramas, which realized the project. He added that they mostly encountered the hospitality of the property owners.
For photographing, the authors used platforms or cameras mounted on special poles. This allowed them to achieve panoramic views of Prague and the towers themselves. The images are accompanied by text with the history and description of the buildings. Currently, views are available online, for example, from the television tower in Žižkov, from St. Vitus Cathedral, or from the National Museum.
"It’s a very interesting project, it will do a huge amount of work for the promotion of Prague,” said Blažek, thus outlining the main goal of the entire event, which is to attract more tourists to Prague. An English version of the site is prepared for foreigners. In case of public interest, Blažek did not rule out the expansion of the project to other buildings. The work done so far has cost the municipality 1.2 million crowns and lasted half a year.
