However, these spaces were considered from a male, Western, bourgeois, heterosexual, and able-bodied perspective that overlooked everything that did not fit into this nomenclature. Women and the feminist movement have thus traveled a long road lasting several decades to gain feminist space in architecture and urbanism and prioritize different ways of building our world.
At the end of the 1950s, Brazilian architect Lina Bo Bardi began working on various projects. Based on the above-quoted phrase “Without a beginning and without an end,” the exhibition emphasizes the idea that architecture and feminism are two areas for more sustainable, egalitarian, and just habitation of space.
