<Viewpoint Tower on Devínska Kobyla>

At the peak of Devínska Kobyla, which is the highest point of the Devínska Brána massif, the long-awaited observation tower has been added. We are honored that the studio Architekti Šebo Lichý was able to support the project with its design, which will contribute to the attractiveness of this location. The new observation tower on Devínska Kobyla, with the investor being the city district of Bratislava-Devínska Nová Ves, will be located at the intersections of popular hiking trails, offering good accessibility and rich views for visitors.
The investor's intention was to build an attractive observation tower with a low-cost budget. Based on references, we were approached by the mayor of the Bratislava-Devínska Nová Ves district with an interest in cooperating on the design. We were enthusiastic about the idea due to the attractiveness of the task itself. Furthermore, there are several of our projects in the districts of Dúbravka and Záhorská Bystrica, and we have a natural interest in helping the development of this area. Therefore, Architekti Šebo Lichý and ITB Development were happy to participate as sponsors in the creation of the observation tower.
The location at the borders of three countries represents the symbolic significance of the intertwining of Central European cultures. The view into the three neighboring countries is a motif that we transformed into three observation platforms at different heights.
In the rich fauna of Devínska Kobyla, we also find the green mantis, which with its slender shape can resemble the ultimate embodiment of the expression of the observation tower. Its white color allows it to stand out against the background of the crowns of surrounding trees and simultaneously makes it invisible from distant views of the Devínska Kobyla massif.
The contractor for the construction, which weighs 35 tons, is the company INGSTEEL. Visitors will reach a height of 21.27 meters after climbing 112 steps. Here they will be greeted with beautiful views, which will be an attraction not only for residents of the adjacent districts. We believe that the construction of the observation tower in 2020 is the first step towards the revitalization of the location, will kick-start its renewal, and will support tourism in the nearby area. The greatest reward for us will be satisfied visitors, who will take not only beautiful photos but also an unforgettable experience from their trip.
