The entrance elliptical pavilion of the depository complex of the NTM (National Technical Museum) in Čelákovice is an important control point, to which all information from the entire complex converges. It serves as a control room, a security control point, an administrative background for employees, and a contact point for visitors to the complex. The elliptical shape of the building is inspired by the aerodynamics of technical objects - airborne and watercraft (airships, submarines). The façade is metallic combined with large-scale glazing of windows, designed to respond to sunlight through a motorized shading control system, which ensures an optimal indoor environment throughout the year. The light color of the aluminum façade surfaces also contributes to stabilizing the internal climate. Other elements of contemporary technological systems, such as above-standard solutions for the envelope or recovery systems, aim to push the building towards minimal operational energy demands. The technical character of the building is emphasized in the interior by exposing concrete structures as well as all technical distributions and technological systems. The interior layout is designed around the vertical axis of the staircase, which connects all floors, and the horizontal axis of the hallway.
As part of maintaining a unified architectural concept, the design of the entrance pavilion references the already completed depository halls from the years 2006, 2009, 2012, and 2023. The architectural design reflects the materials used in the newly realized constructions of depository halls CD 01–04. The world of painter Kamil Lhoták, as well as the films of Karel Zeman, has become an inspiration for the overall appearance of the complex.
