Depository Hall CD04 at the National Technical Museum in Čelákovice
Hall CD04 is a new structure within the conceptually designed depository complex for storing collections of the National Technical Museum. The NTM depository area in Čelákovice spans approximately 77,000 m², which was acquired by the museum in the 1960s. The original land of the former brickworks clay pit and subsequent NTM waste dump has been revitalized and repurposed for the needs of a cultural institution.

Hall CD04 features large open halls across two floors, which are used for the storage of automotive industry objects and engineering-related items. Additional hall spaces are equipped with both standard fixed and movable systems for storing smaller collection items. All construction, architectural, and spatial modifications are based on the principle of ensuring the safety of the stored collections and the stability of the internal climate for the high-quality long-term protection of the collection items stored here, so that they can be kept intact for future generations.
CD04 is a model of a modern depository that utilizes sandwich thermal insulating facades and incorporates intelligent technological systems. The double cladding made of "heavy" reinforced concrete construction naturally ensures compliance with the prescribed internal climate parameters based on the nature of the stored exhibits, while reducing the need for energy-intensive technologies for building operations and ensuring rigorous energy and functional zoning.
The building is equipped with appropriate fire protection and security systems that minimize the risk of damage to the stored items. The building is fully accessible.
In maintaining a unified architectural concept, the design of hall CD04 is connected to the already completed halls from the years 2006, 2009, and 2012. The idea of hangar buildings on a greenfield site, as can be seen in the works of technology enthusiast and painter Kamil Lhoták, has served as inspiration for the overall appearance of the facility, which is gradually coming to fruition.
The construction of Hall CD04 was financially supported by the European Union as part of the IROP with contributions from the Ministry of Culture and the National Technical Museum.
