Sloping plot of land with a beautiful view of the countryside is located on the outskirts of the southern part of the village of Čerčany. It creates a transition between dispersed construction and open landscape. The main mass of the house is oriented along the slope of the land and takes on a parallel orientation with the existing family houses on neighboring parcels. The mass arrangement of the building, along with its external appearance, is consistently derived from the layout of the interior spaces. The common living areas of the house open southward to the external living space formed by a pair of terraces, while the bedrooms located on the upper floor are oriented towards views of the countryside due to their height. The double garage is located at the lower edge of the plot in relation to the slope, adjacent to the access road. Access to the house is via an external retained staircase.
The layout allows for the interconnection of individual spaces. The common living areas on the ground floor and the two-story gallery illuminated by a skylight are mutually connected. The natural slope of the terrain allows for greater ceiling height above the living space. The basement houses the required facilities of the house, and the owner's study is situated in a quiet corner of the roof. The individual floors are connected by a single-flight staircase in the center of the layout.
During construction, materials responding to the context of the site were used thoroughly. The ground floor of the house is made of visible concrete, while the simple cubic volume of the upper floor is clad in wooden paneling. The walls of the study are externally made of waterproof plywood.
The load-bearing structure of the building consists of masonry walls combined with reinforced concrete pillars, and the ceilings are of reinforced concrete. All exterior walls are designed as sandwich panels. The flat roof with a reversed order of layers is walkable, with a surface made of concrete slabs and river gravel. The openings are processed using a frameless glazing system combined with aluminum frames at the operable openings. Interior shading is ensured by curtains on the glazed walls. The floors in the living spaces are made of wooden planks. The bathrooms have natural linoleum flooring, and the walls are painted with a hydrophobic enamel coating. A project for custom interior furniture has been developed, and its production is currently nearing completion.
