Apartment building Klánovické atrium

In relation to the surrounding buildings, we are placing two masses - cubes - on the plot. The design of the residential building adopts the orthogonal grid of Slavětínská Street and the surrounding structures. The first mass, positioned along the street, creates a street space, while moving away from the street creates a public forecourt with landscaping. The second mass is located deeper in the plot along the northern boundary. The masses are situated so that the footprints do not overlap with the main mass of the neighboring restaurant building. The space between the masses is utilized for parking vehicles. By covering it, generous terraces of the apartments on the 2nd floor are created. It is anticipated that there will be substantial greenery around them, so that the intermediate space merges with the surrounding vegetation. The buildings are three-story cubes with a flat roof. The basic mass is recessed in certain areas, creating terraces on the top floors, loggias, and cantilevers. The last floor gives the impression of a recessed level, visually lowering the buildings. The masses do not exceed the surrounding buildings and have a pleasant scale of a compact residential complex. At the same time, they clearly indicate that these are buildings with multiple residential units. The main mass is clad in a uniform material - grey-brown plaster with vertical grooves. In the places where the masses are recessed, the facade is treated in a smooth light grey plaster. The frames of the window openings are designed in the same shade. In the mass positioned along the road, commercial units are accessible from the ground floor. From the north side, access to the staircase is gained under the cantilever. On the second floor, there are offices facing the street, towards the inner courtyard, and in the last floor, there are apartments. Along the northern side of the plot, a paved area is proposed, serving for access to both parts as well as for vehicular access to the covered parking. The second part contains only apartments, with those on the ground floor having their own front gardens.
