Village north of Prague

Village north of Prague
The plot slopes towards the south, with access provided at its northwestern tip. A house in the footprint shape of a "Y" is designed on the plot; the building has a compact irregular shape with two cantilevered volumes. It is oriented along the northern boundary of the plot at a distance of 3 meters. The first cantilever is directed from the main living space to the southeast with a panoramic view of the valley. The second cantilever, featuring a bedroom on the 2nd floor, is oriented east towards the plot with the forest. The house is embedded into the slope. The exterior cladding of the house consists of vertically oriented rusty Corten steel with a very fine wave pattern, while the volume of the garden storage is made of exposed concrete. The house is divided in height by approximately half a floor into six height levels, each separated by a staircase with six or ten steps. The height levels have the following functions from the bottom up: a wine cellar with a guest area, a relaxation room with a gym and technical facilities, a garage with an entrance hall and storage spaces, the main living space with a dining area and kitchen corner, a section with children’s rooms, and at the top, a section for the parents. The individual rooms on each level are logically arranged in relation to a central corridor connected by a staircase. A separate uninsulated part of the house is the garden storage with a roof terrace (the dining terrace) located to the east.
