The spaces of the original factory were marked by many spontaneous modifications that arose from the immediate needs of everyday life. The authors of the reconstruction sought to come to terms with the randomness of the context and create modern and functional spaces for the company Fastherm, which trades in sealants, gaskets, and anchoring technology. The program included, in addition to administration and warehouses, manufacturing facilities for packing machines. The architects maximally exposed the structure, while leaving visible traces of various modifications and construction interventions. The electrical, gas, water, and heating installations are run visibly on the surface. An important element of the reconstruction concept is the introduction of daylight through a long roof skylight and a slit in the ceiling along the back brick wall down to the ground floor. The simple base of the building received several purely functional additions – new aluminum windows, a zinc-coated sandwich construction for the roof, a roof skylight, wooden industrial flooring, Lexan or drywall partitions, glass railings, and container stainless steel kitchens.
