Visitors at many fairs and exhibitions around the world have had the opportunity to see the bold shape creations of Studio pha made from polyvinyl film originally from France. Barrisol, due to its unique properties, offers enormous variability in use: it can be used to create a perfectly flat and smooth ceiling, as well as an organic shape that no other material can achieve.
After more than ten years of working with this material, Marek Deyl and Jan Šesták designed a showroom for the Czech distributor of Barrisol near Prague. In previous years, organically shaped exhibition stands for companies like Lasvit or Scott have been successful at fairs and exhibitions around the world.
"We have been collaborating with CS Lyon, the exclusive distributor of Barrisol film, for many years, and Czech implementations rank among the best worldwide. When José Soriano, the owner of CS Lyon, approached us with an offer to design the Prague showroom, we of course happily accepted," says Marek Deyl about the beginnings of the design.
"Our concept is based on a geometric structure in the interior, composed of Artolis and Barrisol materials. Conceptually, it is an open space where not only the Barrisol team works, but it also serves as a meeting place for architects and designers, as a space where materials from this French company are presented live," adds the architect.
The opening of the Barrisol showroom and production hall in Klíčany near Prague marks the culmination of Barrisol's 25-year presence in the Czech market. The new larger showroom and production hall, covering an area of 900 m², allow for the production of more complex structures; a wide range of ceilings and solutions are showcased in the showroom.
