Family House in Dřevíč II

Family House in Dřevíč II
Address: Červená ulice, Dřevíč, Hronov, Czech Republic
Project:2011
Completion:2011 - 2012

The family house in Velký Dřevíč from 2003 was my very first personal project. It gained considerable attention in professional periodicals and is also mentioned in the Yearbook of Czech Architecture 2003-2004. And also because I liked it as it was, I initially refused the investor's request to enlarge it with an extension for additional rooms for their expanding family. After years, it was only the insistence of my wife that if I did not prepare the design, they would go to someone else. And so, at one joint celebration, I yielded and accepted the task. It was developed under the motto "Better to ruin it myself than for someone else to ruin it :-)".
The house gained, in addition to the two mentioned children’s rooms with sanitary facilities, new insulation with the originally planned dark gray color shade. It must be admitted that the reconstruction by adding 40 m² to the original 120 m² greatly benefited the function of the house, as it much better meets the needs of a four-member family with a cat and a dog (a Great Dane).
This is the first reconstruction of my own house, which we are now following up with the construction of a pavilion to the family house in Kramolna (2012). It is a new and very interesting experience for us, confirming the correctness of our approach to clients. Above all, we care about creating long-term relationships based on mutual respect and esteem.
