In Radvanice – one of the districts of Ostrava – a married couple of progressive-minded doctors found a specific plot of land. The northward sloping meadow has a notably winding boundary and two opposite entrances. The neighboring house represents the current Czech standard. Opposite it, the remnants of an orchard bravely survive, recalling the heyday of the former Nová huť Klementa Gottwalda dominating the nearby horizon.
The narrow and elongated figure of the house naturally follows the existing terrain. The partially basement-level ground object has three floor height levels. The internal spaces are strictly zoned in terms of layout and, under an almost thirty-meter long shed roof, conceal variable ceiling heights ranging from intimate 2.3 m to generous 3.5 m. The durable ventilated facade made of trapezoidal sheets is punctuated by windows on the longer sides and complemented by the solid mass of the entrance to the basement.
In the future, the plot is planned for the construction of a garage and a garden shed.
