The reconstructed building complex with its original normalization morphology is located in the historic center of Lednice, positioned significantly within the already established urban structure. After the reconstruction, it contains a self-service shop and twenty apartment-type units.
It is oriented towards Zámecké náměstí as well as towards the public space with the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk at the intersection of Pekařská, Mikulovská, Valtická, and Břeclavská streets, which also takes the form of a square. The new forecourt in the place of the original and demolished staircase block serves as a new connection point for both squares.
By demolishing the staircase and part of one wing on the 2nd floor of the original shopping center, the imbalance between the volumes of the two original buildings of the shopping center and the post office was rectified. This created a mass corner figure with two end gables and a lower central section.
The building is shaped into archetypal forms with a gabled roof, divided into a street-facing building and a courtyard wing. This adjustment allowed us to modify the building's scale and bring it closer to the surrounding structures. We used classic materials such as smooth or patterned plaster and fired roofing. The attic extension has a contemporary expression from the side of the service yard. Parking is available both in front of the house and in the courtyard.
