The current condition of the original house does not meet today's housing requirements. The reconstruction of the house was assessed as a completely uneconomical solution, so we proposed a change in the use of this house to serve as an auxiliary facility for a residential building (garage, storage, workshop). On the contrary, the existing state of the barn allowed us to design a residential building that meets today's housing standards and also the requirements of the investor.
The building has one above-ground floor and an attic. The structure respects the original floor plan and mass dimensions of the existing barn. The building has a main longitudinal section oriented with the longer side facing north-south. The rectangular floor plan of the house is covered with a gable roof. The construction is designed with masonry technology combined with the original sandstone columns. The load-bearing part of the roof is made of a wooden truss. The house is designed to respond to its surroundings, both in terms of proportion and volume, as well as the materials used, typical of the area. The building's exterior appearance responds to the original materials of the barn. The sandstone columns and wooden cladding of the house have been preserved.
