conceptthoughtful decisions - genuine materials - local sources - distinctive approach - a pinch of incompleteness and imperfection as doors opened to further pathways
Collaboration...that is the word that comes to mind when I think of the creation of the interior of the
object concept store for Jana Longaverová.
The store owner contacted me in September 2016, wanting to open the shop as soon as possible. She had a clear idea of the space, and some pieces of furniture were already made. The project therefore had clear limits, which I find enjoyable.
After a brief hesitation over the unusual assignment (please, no drawings), I decided to engage with the ongoing project.
Its concept resonated with me and was very close to my own. The space as a meeting place, a blend...from the beginning. Jana gathered a team of outstanding individuals who, despite being perpetually busy, were surprisingly ready to work swiftly on the interior. Both the timelines and budget were adhered to. Just next time, I would prefer to draw those steel shelves rather than assemble them on the wall; drafting has its charm.
František Zelinka: table, diploma thesis - furniture design at UMPRUM - Jiří Pelcl's studio, recycled oak parquet, black steel
Peter Demek: waxed steel shelves and other steel elements in the interior
AlešBáry: velvet silk curtains
And how does Jana Longaverová describe her project?
"Object was born from the desire to connect personal experiences with natural cosmetics, niche perfumes, unique jewelry, accessories, and art. There's a growing vibrancy on Cihlářská street and the object is part of that.
We love unusual things and concepts. A deliberate combination of unconventional aesthetics and a sustainable concept concentrated into a smaller space, created in collaboration with architect Daniela Hanousková Boučková from the studio 2x13. A prominent feature is the neon logo, a parquet table, velvet curtains, and an integral part is also the changing gallery - a wall with sales exhibitions that alternate every 3 months."The English translation is powered by AI tool.
