The Fox company specializes in selling clothing and accessories for young people. The task was to create a store interior with a somewhat unusual atmosphere. A space that will be significantly different from the Prague skate shops stuffed with clothing and the redesigned sterile and expensive boutiques.
The main idea was to design an interesting space using inexpensive materials. The materials used (concrete, OSB boards, screws) and the joints of materials in the interior are visually acknowledged.
The entire store is designed in contrasting black and white colors. Black is used for rough construction materials such as the load-bearing OSB walls and connecting metal materials. White, on the other hand, is used for exact, precise, glossy, embedded elements made of lacquered MDF boards. The neutral black and white color scheme allows the colorful diversity of the products sold to stand out.
The store was created by combining two separate parts. This resulted in a significantly intricate space with varying ceiling heights. Into this complex space, we inserted a structure made of OSB boards coated with a black matte finish. The structure covers the walls and partially the ceiling, creating the impression of a continuous space - "some kind of fox den" (fox in English means a female fox and the fox motif is also in the company's logo). The OSB façade also conceals new technical installations - electrical wiring, lighting, and light strips. It also serves directly as an installation surface. Into this rough structure, precise glossy white masses are inserted, which serve as a cash register, fitting rooms, and especially present the store's assortment.
This basic concept is further complemented by unobtrusive graphics based on the company logo. This motif is randomly distributed throughout the store space and locally penetrates the window into the street space. Small foxes thus symbolically connect the interior of the store with the street space.
