The school complex of the municipality of Lety is located at the very edge of the built-up area of the rapidly growing municipality and will soon become an integral part of it. The individual buildings have been designed from the very beginning as separate pavilions, connected by ground-level corridors.
The main architectural principle of the design is simplicity and conciseness in form, material, and color solutions, without unnecessary effects. The external expression of the whole complex is solid and firm. Both buildings have a unified square floor plan, a strict window grid, and a consistent style of facade cladding.
The structural system used is exposed concrete sandwich blocks with integrated thermal insulation – these are visually applied on both the facades and in the interior. The ceilings are inserted with prefabricated and steel beams, and the school's roof is wooden with nailed trusses.
Both buildings are connected by a ground-level corridor, which also serves as an entrance vestibule. This is an unheated space, with a facade made of glass Profilit profiles. Similarly, the entrance vestibule of the school is designed.
The kindergarten includes 3 sections with essential facilities. The primary school is intended for the first stage and contains 6 identical square classrooms with windows on two sides. The ground floor houses changing rooms and also a cafeteria with a kitchen, which serves the kindergarten.
The interior design is primarily intended with regard to its young users. The main focus is on creating ideal comfort for staying, and the classrooms are flooded with light. It was crucial to use high-quality and durable materials, such as poured terrazzo and PUR screeds on the floors and wooden furniture and windows.
