Residential complex
Condominium Renaissance, built in 2008 (architects
Ľubo Závodný and
Juraj Polyák), is located in the western part of Bratislava. The plot on the southern slope of Dlhé Diely offers an unobstructed view of the Karlova arm, the Danube, and its floodplain forests. The duplex apartment on the lowest floors of the building is partially embedded in the terrain, but it does not feel that way inside at all. Thanks to the perfect orientation, fantastic view, and large garden, the apartment feels more like a villa.
As part of the layout changes, a large wardrobe was added at the entrance to the apartment, the originally pass-through kitchen was closed off, and a pantry was created, accessible directly from the kitchen. On the upper floor, combining two smaller bedrooms resulted in the main bedroom with a wardrobe and en-suite bathroom.
The selection of materials and colors used in the interior of the duplex is largely a result of the owner's plans to rent the apartment. Natural oak floors in combination with furniture made of ash veneer, white walls, and natural textiles create an elegant and cozy atmosphere while leaving enough space for future tenants to personalize the area.
The interior is complemented by wall paintings by Juraj Serwa Hubinský, which appear as motifs not only on the double-height wall behind the staircase but also in the bedroom and pantry.
