The iconic Eva Bridge in Adamov is a modern and functional solution for transport in a busy traffic hub in the floodplain of the Svitava River. The character of the site required a sensitive solution that would not disrupt the unique nature of the city of Adamov. The investor demanded the creation of a new barrier-free access to the platforms and a safe crossing over the railway line, which would also connect two parts of the city of Adamov. Thus, a simple structure emerged that resonates with the industrial character of the town. It is accompanied by orange guiding lines that serve as connectors. Equally prominent is the symbol of Eve's chromosomes "XX", used as a solution to the complex layout of the building. The building is situated with respect to the preservation of existing structures, which have been newly plastered with a structured historicizing plaster. Easy and barrier-free access is ensured by elevators and ramps leading from the bridge to the platforms. The entrance to the sloped access walkway is located opposite the exit of the dispatch building. The covered staircase is oriented in this direction, thereby determining the position of the bridge. The area in front of the dispatch building has also undergone reconstruction, resulting in a representative space for passenger movement. A parking lot for cars has also been constructed here. The form of the covered sloped access walkway is elementary and minimalist. The interior space of the bridge, which opens between the existing dispatch building and the newly designed technology building, allows for a peaceful crossing.

In the context of the importance and size of the railway station, a minimalist form of roofing was chosen, which derives from the structure and shape of the stairs themselves, smoothly continuing onto them. The materials used in construction relate to this idea. The lower weight of the bridge and its adjacent parts was achieved using steel and reinforced concrete. The project is dominated by a perforated cassette facade, which significantly lightens the structure and conceals within it a code from the artist Václav Kočí related to the poem "Doma" from the Book of Forests, Waters, and Slopes by Stanislav Kostka Neumann. Thus, the idea connects to activities typical for this area as well as to the place itself.

The idea to supplement the cladding of the sloped access walkway with an artistic element gradually emerged from the character and positioning of the building. The goal was to create something new, atypical – something that would express the spirit of the place while also meeting the aesthetic requirements of contemporary architecture. The artist Václav Kočí, who collaborated on the project, therefore proposed the use of his own artistic alphabet code, in which an excerpt from the poem "Doma" by Stanislav Kostka Neumann from the Book of Forests, Waters, and Slopes is incorporated. The text of the poem resonates with the place and tells the story of the newly created bridge. The place where the train silently glides through the mists in the valleys thus conceals a graphic code inscribed into the rectangles of the bridge's structure.

The task, the design of which had to be completed within three weeks, was not easy at all. The artist worked with predetermined technology and dimensions of the facade. A perforated graphic wall form was agreed upon, which required demanding work with sheet metal parts. Václav Kočí's graphic alphabet consists of rectangles with diagonal lines that create code for the letters. Since the alphabet of the Adamov bridge consists of rectangles, the code for this work is completely unique. After creating the design, the realization of samples and preparatory work followed. Various perforations and curvatures of the sheet create dark and airy surfaces or bright and light wholes. This results in peculiar contrasting and dual positions that create both technical and artistic solutions. The riddle concealed in the outer shell of the bridge can be solved in a few hours. The station is not yet equipped with a board that would explain the riddle. Thus, the bridge is accompanied by a mystery that awaits to be deciphered by the passengers.

Excerpt from the poem:
Book of Forests, Waters, and Slopes
Stanislav Kostka Neumann

Doma

The mists are in the valleys and the sky is gray without sheen;
if a man enters the forests, he lowers his head lost in thought.
On the russet crowns of peaks closed within themselves
silence glides through the woods on gray paths frozen.
