Interior of the apartment Prague 5

Interior of the apartment Prague 5
Architect: Simona Fišerová
Completion:2018

The apartment is situated in a six-story villa house built in 2003. The comfort of living here is ensured not only by the well-accessible location in Prague's Smíchov but also by the smaller number of apartments in the building (1-2 per floor).
The original layout with an area of 155 m² did not meet the needs of the current owners. All partitions, the floor, and the bathroom were completely removed from the apartment, and it was reconstructed into its current form for a family of three.

There is a daily zone designed here, consisting of one large space with a dining area, a kitchen next to the loggia, and a living room. On the other side of the kitchen, there is a wardrobe with mirrored sliding doors that defines the entrance hall.
The quiet zone of the apartment includes 2 bedrooms, a larger bathroom, and a toilet. From all these rooms, there is access to the balcony, which runs along the entire facade. Due to the excessively long hallway, glazed sliding doors have been designed to the rooms to better connect the hallway with the bedrooms and eliminate the impression of a dark tunnel. These glazed areas are complemented by linen curtains, which are also present at the windows, just in a lighter shade.

The furnishings in the apartment are styled in shades of gray and white, which are complemented by furniture made of oak veneer in the dining room or walnut veneer in the bedroom. Other cabinets are in white, lacquered. The entire apartment is connected by a floor made of solid oak boards, and in both bedrooms, there is a textile wallpaper on the wall behind the headboard that pleasantly warms the rooms. An interesting element is the three-dimensional lacquered ceiling in the hallway and entrance that consists of fine slats, which significantly improved the acoustics of the space. The ceiling also conceals the electrical and air conditioning installations, including the air conditioning units.
