The design and realization of the interior of a small apartment in Modřany was done for our friends in 2017. The vision was quite clear – a very raw, industrial interior. Concrete, exposed installations, black furniture.
First, we designed modifications to the layout to create the largest central space possible. The ceiling was cleaned down to the underlying concrete, and we covered the walls with a cement screed. For the floor, we proposed a cement poured floor.
The furniture is made from black laminate with a silk-matt finish, and the countertop is made of black patinated granite.
We did not embed the modifications to the existing electrical installations into the wall, but instead, we exposed them on the surface.
In the interior, we locally used old industrial lights and switches. We then complemented them with atypical light fixtures designed by us. The fixtures are constructed from black jackel profiles with embedded LED lights and allow for lighting modulation (direct and indirect light).
The whole design and realization was an interesting challenge for us. The assignment was strict, rough, extreme. However, the result paradoxically gives a pleasant and almost cozy impression in reality.
