Behind the Curtain of Nature
The theme that connects the entire world around us is nature. It is an infinite source of inspiration for music creators as well as for the creation of sounds and instruments. The exhibition "Musical Wildlife" thematically connects the world of music with the world of nature, and our main task as architects was to materialize this relationship between music and nature.

The organic curve of the panels smoothly connects all spaces of the historic building, and the soft shapes evoke the proximity of nature, creating nooks for exhibits or play activities. A multifaceted imaginative world of transparent nature has been created here, offering space for the visitor's own imagination, exploration, and playfulness. The paneling serves as a curtain behind which a second layer exists – the mysterious world of animals, listening corners, projection spaces, and areas that can only be crawled through by children. Sometimes an animal in the form of a silhouette peeks over the curtain, adding another layer to the exhibition that encourages the visitor to look up.

Most of the display cases are integrated into the paneling. Animal exhibits are mostly presented in the form of dioramas alongside musical instruments. In larger areas, niches for seating with listening points are created in the rounded parts. Some animals have their burrows, nests, or perches. This unfolds a multi-level plan of the paneling.

However, playfulness, independent exploration, and inquiry by the visitors are essential for the entire exhibition. The organic paneling creates recesses for individual interactive elements located on islands, where visitors can play with objects. There are also rounded countertop display cases in the space, reminiscent of stones.

Two arches in the hall opening to the outdoor passage are dedicated to a playful installation of silhouettes of animals and instruments installed in birdcages. This artistic installation will make many passersby reflect on what they might encounter at the Czech Museum of Music.

The graphics in this space are designed as a full-surface overlay to create a mysterious atmosphere of transparent nature into our conceptual musical world. The graphics intertwine motifs of animals from old zoological illustrations with musical instruments and primarily with the guides of the children's line – a cat and a mouse.
