Previous ExperienceAfter several years, a satisfied client reached out to us, with whom we had previously designed a renovation of an apartment in Břevnov. The most creative mind was him, as he came up with ideas like a bed on lift pistons, massive steel "I-beams" with movable lights, and a "cement board" kitchen. This time, the brief was a bit larger and again full of great experiments that architects love.
House on the SlopeThe most beautiful moment of the entire plot is the view of the Loděnice Stream, with a slope covered in deciduous trees. The sloping plot allowed the two-story house to be mass positioned into the terrain in such a way that it was accessible from both levels. The shape of the house is rectangular with a sloping roof oriented along the contour line. The approach road at the bottom of the slope ends with a parking shelter for 2 cars. On the southern side of the house, a light terrace with a grilling area has been added.
LayoutFollowing the approach path, we weave through gabions to the entrance of the house. We enter the interior in the middle of the overall layout. Each floor has a bedroom and a bathroom with facilities. The southern part of the house is two stories high and features a living space, kitchen, dining area, and study. On the upper floor, it is possible to step out onto the garden with a swimming pool. A wide dormer allows for a panoramic view from the gallery on the upper floor.
MaterialsIn choosing materials, we loosely followed the client's wishes. Raw steel, exposed concrete, "slate" flooring, and blacksmith's black painted rebar. The exterior cladding is made of Siberian larch, while the metal roof along with the window frames is in an anthracite color.
