House on the edge of the Protected Landscape Area Jizera Mountains

House on the edge of the Protected Landscape Area Jizera Mountains
Collaboration:Tomáš Petrášek
Completion:kolaudace 2010, interiér 2014

The design of the house utilizes traditional elements of a village house, such as the rectangular footprint of the main body of the house, parallel orientation with the contours, gable roof, and exposed main load-bearing structures of the house... On the other hand, these traditional means are connected into a slightly alternative, yet proportionate to the location and not significantly deviating composition, which emphasizes the dynamic overall silhouette of the house and precisely framed views from the variously oriented windows of the house on different floors. The house is designed as a pure timber construction with an exposed load-bearing beam skeleton and ceiling and roof cladding in the interior. Wood is thus the predominant material when looking at the house from both outside and inside. The house was built through the self-coordination of several subcontractors. As an architect, I provided ongoing authorship and technical supervision (TDI) on the construction and assisted the owners with the organization of the building process.
