The plot under the supervision of Prague Castle is enclosed by two urban arteries: Střešovická and Patočková streets. The residential complex Triangle directly connects to the adjacent villa development; we projected the typical floor plans of the surrounding villas, measuring 11 x 22 meters, into the spatial design of the eight houses.

Instead of one mass, we created a logical structure from smaller rectangular floor plans, featuring a spacious internal courtyard that also follows the gently sloping terrain of the former gardening colony. The houses share a common base that conceals underground parking and a courtyard, which is the heart of the entire complex. The cascading orthogonal structure simultaneously reflects the mass and position of the opposing Hypšman villa from 1927.

From the street perspectives, the complex appears compact, while inside we emphasized the airiness of the internal atrium and the mutual communication between the houses. This is reflected in the facade solutions, where the front facades are significantly glazed compared to the rear ones. We predominantly worked with strip windows on the latter. The acoustics in the apartments are addressed with installed triple-glazed windows, and internal comfort is ensured by recuperative units and cooled ceilings. The internal design of the project is executed to a high standard (intelligent installations, surfaces, and materials used).

Also thanks to zoning regulation, the investor decided to retain most of the apartments in ownership and lease them out. Thus, it is not a classic development project, but in the context of Prague, it is a unique long-term investment concept that develops the given area. Each house contains 4 to 8 apartments, while the top floors are home to fully glazed penthouses with large terraces. In the configuration of the individual masses, we maximally accentuated the unique view of the nearby Černín Palace and the panorama of Prague Castle.
