As with most development projects for which we design interiors, the initial request from the investor here was to change the layout of the apartment to better suit their needs.
The investor was a young couple, looking forward to having two children, currently without children, but with a small and very lively dog.
At the investor's request, we strictly separated the day and night areas of the apartment. The bedroom area was expanded and designed as a closed composition of a walk-through closet, a small bathroom, and the bedroom itself. Two children's rooms, complemented by the main bathroom, received a new proportion.
In contrast, we connected the daytime area into one large social unit, separated from the entrance hallway only by framed glass doors. A bay with a kitchen set and a counter facing the dining table also created a "back" for the electric piano – a great passion of the lady of the house.
The color and material scheme leans towards being rather cool, contrasting, with an emphasis on materials like exposed concrete and metal, and wood in dark, almost black hues. This is balanced by the warm shade of the floor, which flows through the entire interior like a river, acting as a spatially unifying and connecting element. The complementary material chosen is wood in a pleasantly warm tone, with a fine but distinct texture, similar in color to the floor.
Accessories in the form of leather straps for opening cabinets and pull-outs, simple, mostly glass light fixtures, and metal frame doors with glazing gave the interior a touch of subtle industrial style, with color coordination precisely according to the client's wishes.
Last but not least, everything is softened by gray tones in textiles, carpets, curtains, drapes, and even the bedding of the marital bed.
