The apartment is located in a classic panel building, in the original layout of 2+1. The total floor area of the apartment is 42m². The apartment was handed over in its original condition and underwent a complete reconstruction including the replacement of all surfaces.
The clients' requirement was to make the most of the existing space, brighten the apartment, provide a fully functional kitchen, accommodate two mountain bikes in the apartment, and maximize storage space overall. Other requirements included a place for overnight guests to sleep, space for dance practice, two workspaces, and a dining table for up to 4 people.
It was necessary to replace the floor coverings with oak parquet, which are consistent throughout the apartment and seamlessly connect to the tiles in the kitchen. The built-in furniture and kitchen were tuned to a light color with accents of oak veneer to connect the small space as much as possible. The living room and kitchen area were merged into a larger housing space without doors, and the overall optical enlargement and brightening were also enhanced by a large mirror on the wall, which can be covered with a curtain. The dining table is an atypical element that can be folded against the wall if there is a need for free space, and there is also a sofa in the room, which, when unfolded along with the pouffe, serves as a double bed for overnight guests.
The entrance hallway was brightened with skylights, allowing daylight to flow in. The bathrooms and the toilet are finished with cement-impregnated tiles. The bathroom furniture is custom-made, just like all the other carpentry elements in the apartment.
Since the color scheme in the apartment was to be tuned to shades of blue, it was chosen as the ideal option to complement the decor of natural oak and white color.
