Apartment by the riverbank

A spacious apartment in a generous house from the early 20th century required a technical renovation to be transformed for comfortable family living while still maintaining its grandeur. The custom interior respects the historical craftsmanship of the shared parts of the house and the apartment itself, namely the soberly decorated casings and doors with paneling. Everything else derives from their aesthetics, translated into contemporary language. A massive table measuring an impressive 1.5x2.3m dominates the main living area. Respect for honest workmanship is emphasized by original chairs from the workshop of František Bílek with leather upholstery and steel springs. The kitchen unit, frequently used by the entire family, dispels a number of minor clichés about kitchens.
