Upon completing his architecture studies in Japan, Vo Trong Nghia returned to Vietnam and established his office in 2006. He is known for developing sustainable design by integrating inexpensive, local materials and traditional skills with modern aesthetics and methodologies, and many projects are characterised by bamboo structures. Nghia’s green works utilise landscaping and green facades and roofs, with the goal of rehabilitating greenery in local urban conditions, reconnecting humans with nature. Includes the architect’s statement, “What Can Architects Do in an Age When Nature is Being Destroyed by Human Acquisitiveness?”, plus eighteen exemplary works.
