Flowers need light, water, and minimal care

The basis for the proper thriving of green walls is the installation of an automatic irrigation system that regularly waters the flowers placed in the vertical garden, so the user does not need to worry about watering. Furthermore, the installation of special LED lighting is necessary, which provides the flowers with the light needed for growth year-round. The flowers planted in the green wall are grown hydroponically. "We place the flowers in special boxes that allow for hydroponic cultivation. As a result, the occurrence of mold, insects, and odors is significantly reduced. The range of plants that can be grown in this way is really wide, so I dare say that everyone can find something," clarifies Novotná. An economical option for green walls is then growing plants in geotextiles.

Although the gardens are watered automatically, they are living organisms, so minimal care is needed. "Flowers need to be pruned or freed from dry leaves from time to time. We also inform clients that the green wall changes a bit over time. Flowers grow or change color according to their growing season. On the other hand, I see this as an advantage because the green wall will never be the same. It is simply a piece of nature in an interior that needs a bit of care. However, the benefits of the green garden richly compensate for this care," concludes Novotná.
