Armstrong World Industries Ltd., Building Products Division

Waltrovka in Prague's Jinonice is an area of the former aircraft engine factory covering 170,000 m².

The development company Penta Investments, s.r.o. built a new administrative district here, giving this space a completely new friendly face. Evidence of this is the interest in renting by large multinational companies.

One of the largest tenants is the international company Johnson & Johnson, which has already settled into the new headquarters of the Mechanika I building. The tenant chose all fit-outs themselves with the architectural studio STOPRO spol, s.r.o. and paid attention to the overall high quality for their employees in all respects. Great emphasis was placed on both the practicality and durability of the furnishings. For the supplier of acoustic ceilings, Johnson & Johnson chose Armstrong.

This was a multiproduct portfolio of products. Acoustic mineral ceilings Ultima + Op with high absorption, metal ceilings with perforation, acoustic metal baffles, and ceilings with high hygiene requirements were installed here, for example.

This building is part of the revitalized complex of three buildings called Mechanika, with a total floor area of 33,500 m².

Included in this complex is Walter, a monument-protected building. The Mechanica 2 buildings and the historical Walter building received LEED Gold certification. The Mechanica 1 building is certified LEED Platinum.

Alongside the original Waltrovka Aviatica building, the last building, Waltrovka Dynamika, was completed together with buildings Mechanika I, Mechanika II, and Walter.

The ceiling system manufacturer Armstrong Building Products supplied most of the acoustic ceilings in these buildings.
