Schüco CZ s.r.o.

The company Schüco is constantly working on innovations in the field of window and door openings that meet the most demanding requirements for infill and push the boundaries of technological possibilities. Quality combined with clean design and the ability to offer architects the most efficient solutions is always a priority.

A new product in the area of plastic windows is the thermally insulated profile without steel reinforcements, Schüco Alu Inside, which meets the criteria for passive construction. The seven-chamber construction with a frame depth of 82 mm, where the standard steel reinforcement is replaced by extruded aluminum strips, offers lower weight as well as excellent thermal insulation properties. Additionally, this profile has a visible width of only 120 mm, allowing better illumination of the interior. However, it retains all the advantages of plastic windows. The frame achieves values of Uf = 0.76 – 0.90 W/(m2K).

Another innovative product is the surface treatment of plastic profiles Schüco AutomotiveFinish with highly durable metallic shades, whose development was influenced by the successful application of metallic surfaces on plastic molded parts from the automotive industry. The manufacturing possibilities of this color-consistent surface, resistant to abrasion, weather influences, and chemicals have recently expanded to cover up to 90% of all entrance doors, which are among the most demanding openings in buildings. Highly durable metallic colors are applied to PVC profiles during production, leading to the cost-effectiveness of the entire process. You get a product whose quality and durability are comparable to aluminum covering strips. The paint itself is then covered with a special top layer, mixed individually according to the type of shade, which determines the final degree of gloss and surface texture. In addition to the most typical gray shades (DB 703, RAL 9007, RAL 9006), there are also another six interior and exterior shades (RAL 450-M, RAL 630-M, RAL 750-M, RAL 350-M, RAL 140-M and “White Line”), including two special interior colors “Cream Line” and “Copper Effect”.

However, if you need highly durable profiles that are long-term stable against mechanical stress, there is no better choice than aluminum. Schüco has been manufacturing and continually improving aluminum window and door profiles since the 1950s. Compared to wooden and plastic windows, which have an expected lifespan of approximately 30 years, the lifespan of aluminum profiles is about doubled. Aluminum is also completely resistant to weather influences, especially changes in temperature and chemical actions. Thanks to its strength, rigidity, and low weight, it allows the production of large glass surfaces without the need for reinforcement interruptions. Current profiles with a broken thermal bridge and a simple clean design meet thermal insulation values at the level of passive houses. In combination with triple glazing, the aluminum structure of the profile AWS 90.SI+ with a construction depth of 90 mm, at standard dimensions and a visible width of only 117 mm, can achieve values of the window transmission coefficient Uw = 0.8 W/(m2K).

Aluminum profiles contribute to sustainable construction; all components of the Green series are made from renewable raw materials, thus they will not pose a burden on the environment even after a long period of their lifespan. The building envelopes of the future must meet more than just existing energy standards. We already know that the requirements are directed towards passive and energy-active houses. Schüco was the first to certify the aluminum window AWS 112.IC in the passive standard. The window with insulating triple glazing, a construction depth of 112 mm, and an overall window transmission coefficient Uw ≤ 0.8 W/(m2K) enables the construction of certified passive buildings, especially in the commercial sector.

Thanks to today’s technological possibilities, the infills are so tight that they do not fulfill the function of natural ventilation of the room. The way to ventilate effectively is therefore increasingly engaging both investors and designers. Schüco offers automated ventilation units with air recovery Schüco VentoTherm for plastic and aluminum window profiles, allowing horizontal or vertical concealed installation including integrated shading. An F7 air filter (according to ČSN EN 779) takes care of the separation of pollen particles, fine dust, and small insects. Fresh air is heated in the exchanger by waste air, which is then expelled to the exterior. The control has two intensity levels. It starts and stops automatically thanks to integrated humidity and CO2 emission sensors. The system can also be connected to central building control. Low noise levels ≤ 26 dB (A) at level 1 (15 m3/hour) allow for installation in bedrooms as well. The average construction height is only 50 mm, so the ventilation system can be used in both new constructions and renovations. The unit is recessed in the wall, thus absolutely not disturbing the outer facade. Air exchange occurs through the window frame and does not require central air conditioning ducts. The efficiency of heat recovery is up to 45%. Installation is characterized by easy and quick installation into a prepared module, completely hidden in the space above the window; an alternative is integration into a roller shutter box.

Special fittings Schüco VarioTec based on the principle of a locking strip mechanism
An integral part of ensuring the permanent functionality and safety of windows is the fittings. The minimalist appearance of aluminum windows is excellently complemented by the series of concealed fittings Schüco AvanTec. The new generation of mechanical fittings AvanTec SimplySmart with an opening angle of 180° and easy intuitive installation is a holder of the Red Dot Design Award 2014. Design handles with thin profiles are available for both mechanical and electronic control. A special fitting Schüco VarioTec based on the principle of a locking strip mechanism with a high degree of security has been developed for plastic windows, featuring two locking mechanisms. The trend in window operation is automation, allowing for easy remote operation of even large windows. The electric fittings of the future Schüco TipTronic represent concealed mechatronic fittings that combine efficient energy management, safety, automation, comfort, and design. These are completely hidden electric fittings supporting the clean lines of the windows. TipTronic fittings, which are also compatible with safety triple glazing, can be installed in sashes weighing up to 160 kg. The ventilation position with a maximum width of 40 cm is ideal for utilizing nighttime cooling and hybrid ventilation. The window can be intuitively operated and controlled via a button on the handle (the button also offers a nighttime design with an integrated LED), remote control, PC, or central control unit. Unlike standard automatic windows, TipTronic fittings have locks located in multiple places, providing increased resistance to burglary up to resistance class WK2. Security is also ensured by magnetic switches connecting the windows with the alarm and building control system. Users will appreciate the integrated finger pinch protection, as the window is capable of detecting an obstacle while closing and will respond immediately. In 2006, the TipTronic fittings received the prestigious German iF Product Design Award.
