If you are considering installing solar collectors for hot water preparation on the roof of a family home or replacing the existing fossil fuel heating system with an ecological heat pump, there is no need to hesitate. The Ministry of the Environment, in cooperation with the State Environmental Fund of the Czech Republic, has launched the New Green Savings 2013 subsidy program. While the program supports multiple areas, particularly reducing the energy consumption of existing family homes (which includes insulating facades, replacing windows, etc.) or constructing family homes with very low energy consumption, let’s focus on the area of support under letter C, which targets the efficient use of energy resources.
In addition to a number of strictly defined criteria, it is necessary to select exclusively materials, products, and technologies listed in the List of Products and Technologies to qualify for support, where heat pumps and thermal collectors from Schüco CZ s.r.o. are included. The same applies to the selection of suppliers or contracting companies, where a List of Professional Suppliers is available. Each project requires an individual approach; therefore, Schüco products are available in several types and system solutions. The program supports solar systems for hot water preparation as well as systems for both hot water preparation and heating.
Let’s provide a specific example - a thermal set for the preparation of hot domestic water, which will cover the needs of a four-member household. This is a complete solar set from Schüco, which includes 2 collectors, a hot water storage tank with a capacity of 300 l, a regulation unit, a solar station, structural elements, a hot water mixer, and solar fluid. This assembly will adequately cover the hot water needs of the mentioned household from May to September without the need for an additional heating source. The system's power is 3.8 kW, and the annual energy savings in this case are around 2.125 MWh. The investment amount, including installation, is approximately 80,000 CZK (turnkey implementation; the final amount depends on specific/local conditions). The payback period is around 12 years.
In the range of heat pumps, let’s briefly introduce the Schüco HTE 08, an air/water heat pump with a split unit, which is ideal for low-energy housing with a low-temperature heating regime. Without the need for an additional heating source, it is powerful up to a temperature of 20°C, with continuous power regulation (10 - 100%). Specific specifications and investment amounts depend on the conditions of the particular project. For more information, you can contact representatives of Schüco CZ s.r.o. and their business partners.
As indicated on the website www.nzu2013.cz, only costs incurred after January 1, 2013, will be eligible. Furthermore, applications for dates are accepted solely electronically within the framework of time-limited calls and can be submitted before the start, during, or after the completion of the implemented supported measures, always in accordance with the aforementioned date of January 1, 2013. The submission of applications for the first call, which includes systems for effective use of energy resources among other things, started on August 12, 2013. Applications will be accepted until the allocation of one billion crowns is exhausted, but no later than November 29, 2013. The financial resources of the Program must be exhausted by the end of 2014. An ongoing overview of the drawdown will be available on the stated website, where you can also find all necessary information, including the amounts of support and model projects. For example, a solar system for hot water preparation can receive up to 35,000 CZK, but a maximum of 40% of total eligible expenses. It is also important to mention that selected areas of support can be combined, provided that all program conditions are met, and they include expenses related to the preparation and assurance of the implementation of supported measures (e.g., the processing of expert assessments or technical supervision of the builder).
