Brno – The manufacturer and seller of roof windows VELUX Czech Republic reported a turnover of 690.2 million crowns in 2018, which is more than a four percent increase compared to 2017. The profit after tax was estimated by VELUX at 14.3 million crowns. The company stated this in its annual report published on June 30, 2019.

The vast majority of the company's revenue comes from the sale of roof windows and accessories. "Thanks to innovations, we were able to introduce a new product VELUX ACTIVE to the market in 2018. It is a smart system that can control roof windows with electric or solar drive based on data about the weather or air quality in the room," described the financial manager of VELUX, Martin Motyčka. The company is also benefiting from the good state of the Czech economy and the continuing GDP growth. "The number of building permits for residential buildings decreased by 4 percent year-on-year, however, in the roof window segment we are seeing stable demand for our products," informed Martin Motyčka.

The long-term increase in revenue also allows VELUX to create new jobs. "Compared to 2017, we increased the number of employees from 60 to 62," added Martin Motyčka.

Like in previous years, in 2018 VELUX Czech Republic supported some organizations with a financial donation. The Dagmar Children's Home and the Světluška Foundation received a total amount of nearly 110 thousand crowns.

The company's management expects that the firm will continue its activities in 2019 and that there will be no significant changes in its operations.
