The company Zumtobel supplies lighting systems to the reconstructed technical monuments in the Lower Vítkovice Area. Among the already completed projects is the newest branch of the National Agricultural Museum Ostrava in Vítkovice, whose architecturally exceptionally interesting spaces are illuminated by "technical" lighting fixtures from the Zumtobel brand. The architects also counted on the design-attractive and technically advanced lighting from Zumtobel for the buildings of the Tilt and Mill, the reconstruction of which has now been completed.
"We are very pleased to be involved in such prestigious and architecturally exceptionally interesting projects for the restoration of technical monuments in the Lower Vítkovice Area," said Jan Vacek, the General Director of the Czech branch of Zumtobel. "Our 'technical' lighting has literally delighted architects, for example, during the revitalization of the multifunctional spaces of the National Agricultural Museum Ostrava, because its design perfectly fits into the original architecture that the reconstruction sought to preserve as much as possible. At the same time, it offers excellent lighting quality with exceptionally low electricity consumption, thereby contributing to sustainability in relation to the environment."
In the newest branch of the National Agricultural Museum, which opened in 2020, the LED ceiling lights of the Craft type from Zumtobel and the Tecton rail system find application.
The revitalized branch of the National Agricultural Museum Ostrava in the Lower Vítkovice Area focuses on food and agricultural machinery, and its exhibits are divided between two original factory halls from 1926. Thus, the interesting exhibitions as well as the building itself, which was previously part of copper foundries, deserve the attention of visitors. The two-year reconstruction of the museum complex was carried out according to the project of architect Josef Pleskot and engineer Milan Šraml.
In addition to permanent exhibitions, the museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and organizes educational programs for schools and thematic creative workshops. Various cultural events, such as wine and beer festivals, concerts, and gastronomic festivals, as well as presentations by regional food producers, are also held in the large spaces of the museum. Currently, the reconstruction of two more interesting buildings, the Tilt and Mill, has been completed in the Lower Vítkovice Area. In this case as well, the lighting is supplied by Zumtobel.
