Windows and handles from Schüco with antimicrobial effect

For hospitals, nursing homes, sanatoriums, and generally all public buildings with a high concentration of people and increased hygiene requirements, Schüco has developed the SmartActive surface, an antimicrobial treatment for window frames and handles. The durable layer of pure metallic micro-silver creates a lasting protective effect. The active surface immediately destroys pathogens and prevents their further spread. Throughout the day, it thereby reduces at least 99.9% of pathogens, including multi-resistant bacteria. The composition without nanoparticles prevents penetration into human skin.

Hygienic requirements for public buildings providing healthcare, nursing, and educational services, further administrative facilities, and the entire public transport sector continuously increase and require preventive measures, not only during flu season. Especially in hospitals and care facilities, multi-resistant pathogens occur that do not respond to common treatments. On standard frames, handles, and grips, various pathogens can persist for a long time after being touched by a contaminated person, spreading further. The preventive protective shield in the form of Schüco SmartActive effectively prevents this.

The new antimicrobial surface for handles and frames can be applied to a wide range of Schüco window systems. Both the powder coating of the profiles and the exclusive series of handles and knobs with anodized, powder-coated, or stainless steel (INOX and INOX appearance) finishes contain active micro-silver particles. Bacteria and other pathogens die upon contact with this surface, effectively preventing further spread. Over a period of 24 hours, at least 99.9% of dangerous microorganisms, including multi-resistant bacteria, are reduced. This protection is microbiologically demonstrable. It is a versatile solution suitable for everyone. High-quality micro-silver is used, purely metallic, without nanoparticles, so there is no risk of penetration into human skin. This component is non-toxic, harmless to human health, used in medicine, and even in certified natural cosmetics. The SmartActive surface also retains the original appearance of window profiles and handles, making it visually indistinguishable from standard and antimicrobial surfaces. The manufacturing process is also identical to ordinary metallic window systems from Schüco.
