During Milan Design Week, Delta Light transformed the surroundings of the historic Palazzo Crivelli into a monumental light installation. New products were on display, developed in collaboration with architects and designers from OMA, Dean Skira, Arik Levy, and others. The highlight of Design Week was a series of inspirational lectures by the authors behind Delta Light's projects.
The Delta Light installation was visited by 25,000 attendees from 130 countries, which Jan Ameloot, the director of Delta Light, considers a tremendous success. As he says: "We are thrilled with the number of visitors who showed interest in our installation. Our goal was to connect light, form, and architecture, and to present it all together as a compact whole. Watching the astonished visitors was our greatest reward."
Milan unveiled many of its previously hidden corners during the fair. Among them was the magnificent garden of Palazzo Crivelli, which was opened to the public for the very first time on this occasion. Delta Light built a striking black tunnel here, connecting the courtyard, garden, and palace. Its sharp simplicity disrupted the character of the surrounding environment and created a contrast between the Baroque and ultra-modern styles. By using mirrored walls, 3D videos, architectural lighting, along with a minimalist color and material spectrum, it provided a unique multisensory experience.
New Products in the Range
The new offerings in the Delta Light portfolio included a magnetic lighting system based on the Splitline profile. The profile combines different types of fixtures, all placed on a magnetic rail. Each module can be moved freely along the rail, positioned, and shifted wherever needed. Another novelty is the XY 180 light bars and the Superloop collection, a series of light rings in various diameters. Undoubtedly, the most attractive part of the exhibition became the combination of Superloop Spy with a historic crystal chandelier.
In the garden, visitors experienced the result of Delta Light's collaboration with designers from OMA, Levy, and Skira. Together, they created an imaginative scenography using lights, space, and visitors. During this, they presented new exterior light fixtures - the expanded Butler collection and the outdoor column light Polesano.
