Modern modular construction is applied both in the public sector and in the area of family houses. This is confirmed by the new construction of the Sports Academy in Prague 4, realized with modules from FAGUS Slušovice, as well as the construction of five family houses in the "Švabinského garden" area on the outskirts of Olomouc, undertaken by UNIKO Zlín, a.s.
The new Sports Academy building in the Eltodo Novodvorská complex in Prague 4 has only recently opened, and a significant part of it was built using modules from Fagus Slušovice production. The sports, relaxation, and social center DOMYNO has been operational since 2001; however, this year it underwent significant transformations throughout the entire complex. With an area of over 3,000 m², DOMYNO is one of our largest facilities - from the outside, this seemingly unremarkable building in the Novodvorská housing estate in Prague captures attention with its concept. Architecturally, it is designed in such a way that you would only find the original eighteen-meter offices with a great deal of imagination. The airy, bright, and colorfully appealing spaces offer state-of-the-art facilities for sports, relaxation, and social events.
Athletes, but not only they, now have access to a modern air-conditioned hall, four clay tennis courts, a sand beach volleyball court, an artificial ice rink for training hockey players and figure skaters, training facilities for individual training, new changing rooms, showers, and of course, a gym, spinning, solarium, sauna, massages, hairdressing, cosmetics, manicure, and pedicure. The Sports Academy also includes a restaurant with a twenty-meter bar offering an interesting selection for hosting various sports and social events.
The speed and variability of construction from "MADE IN FAGUS" container modules have proven to be fully effective here as well. Just like in other projects by this Slušovice company, the FERMACELL fiber cement boards have been used in the Sports Academy DOMYNO - specifically here on the walls and ceilings. According to Martin Tomšů from FAGUS, the reason for the long-term successful cooperation lies in both the properties of the boards and the customer support provided by Fermacell: “Modular construction is appreciated by our clients due to advantages such as turnkey construction completed in a short time at an agreed deadline for an advantageous fixed price, customized solutions, and the use of verified and certified materials. FERMACELL materials fully meet these criteria, additionally represented by competent and reliable people.”
Fiber cement materials Fermacell, specifically Fermacell boards, Fermacell EE, and Fermacell Powerpanel SE, have been used in the walls and floors of family houses on the outskirts of Olomouc. According to Pavla Šikla, the sales director of UNIKO Zlín, Fermacell materials are very advantageous for modular construction: “We have ample experience with Fermacell materials, and in the area of dry assembly, it is truly a premium material in terms of parameters, certifications, business conditions, and service from the manufacturer that meets the highest demands for modern constructions.”
The houses will be two stories high with a steel structure, sandwich cladding with insulation and plaster, and a shed roof with a slight slope. The internal spaces will be variable, with a staircase and will be connected to the areas with a garden. The living area of approximately 94 m² will consist of a kitchen with a dining room, a living room, and three bedrooms. It will include a living terrace and parking space for one car on the area by the entrances to the houses with a plot size of 231–261 m². The type of family houses realized here received the 1st prize in the competition showcase "New Home," which is regularly announced by the Ministry for Local Development to reward constructions with excellent parameters in areas such as the level of architectural solutions, structural solutions, site placement, land use, parking, garages, execution of the construction, and economic and energy efficiency. Low energy costs are a strong point of the houses from UNIKO. The family houses in Olomouc are constructed as energy-efficient (heating costs approximately CZK 8,600/year) with low maintenance costs.
