The quiet background in the new SIKO KOUPELNY store was created by multi-layered boards Ceresit CL 58.
The representative showroom with an area of 2700 m² was opened this March by the company SIKO BATHROOMS in Prague-Zličín. The store offers a wide range of traditional bathrooms as well as an extensive exhibition of kitchens, doors, floating floors, built-in wardrobes, and lighting. A new addition is the presentation of the new brand ELITE BATH, under which SIKO BATHROOMS will offer bathrooms for discerning customers.

The new SIKO showroom is exceptional in several ways. Not only due to its impressive sales area but also because of the unique spatial solution inspired by the diagonally oriented Broadway in New York. The interior project is by the famous Czech architect Eva Jiřičná and her Prague studio AI DESIGN. Besides the architectural representation of the building's interiors, Eva Jiřičná, known for her love of working with glass and metal, created a luxurious bathroom inspired by her own bathroom in her London apartment, now presented in Zličín as part of the ELITE BATH exhibition.

The store also features extensive facilities, including over 2200 m² of storage space and 700 m² of administrative areas. In the administrative section of the building, Ceresit materials were used on the floors. Thanks to them, elegant tiles were installed professionally while also ensuring pleasant acoustic comfort. This was achieved using Ceresit CL 58 insulating underlay boards. Their features were summarized by the technical advisor of Henkel Czech Republic, Jiří Pavlíček: “This material is primarily used for bridging cracks and fissures in critical substrates and for reducing impact noise. The effectiveness depends on the thickness of the material, which can be 4, 9, and 15 mm. The main reason for their use in the SIKO store was to prevent noise transfer from higher to lower floors, especially where offices are located. The Ceresit CL 58 boards helped create a quiet background that the employees of this part of the building will surely appreciate.”.

Tomáš Stanovský, the director of expansion at SIKO BATHROOMS, adds to the selection of Ceresit materials: “In the implementation of the floors in the administrative areas of the new store, a complete Ceresit system was used – primer CN 94, adhesive CM 16, and insulation underlay boards CL 58. The final walking surface consists of ceramic tiles. We chose the system with CL 58 boards primarily for its minimal thickness and ability to function as footstep insulation. Thanks to the 4 mm thickness, we did not have to worry about the height transition between areas with and without footstep insulation. Everything was also done very quickly – laying CL 58 boards, including preparation, took us only 4 working days. Additionally, we were surprised by the simplicity of the installation and the functionality of the system. Almost anyone can work with the boards; cuts and intricate layouts are easily manageable.”.

Multipurpose Ceresit CL 58 boards are designed to bridge cracks and fissures in the substrate, protecting laid ceramic coverings from cracking due to the shrinkage of cement substrates during drying. They are ideal for bridging expansion and construction joints in the substrate and for reducing impact noise under ceramic coverings and tiles, as well as surfaces made of natural stone indoors. Their use is possible on walls and floors. In residential spaces, they resist high operational loads as well. In wet areas, Henkel's technical advisors recommend their use in conjunction with sealing compounds CL 50 or CL 51 or Ceresit CR mortars. The boards enhance the efficiency of electric heating mats and are suitable for repairing stair steps.

Boards with thicknesses of 4, 9, and 15 mm glued to the substrate are ideal for repair work when implementing subsequent sound or thermal insulation measures, gluing on critical substrates such as wooden floors and chipboards. Boards with a thickness of 15 mm can be laid as a floating underlayment, thermal insulation in the basement, or as high impact noise reduction in the attic. Multipurpose CL 58 boards can be glued with flexible adhesive mortars for tiling, such as Ceresit CM 12, CM 16, CM 17, CM 18, CM 90, or CM 25.
