On Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at 7:00 PM, a discussion evening will take place at the Prague gallery Norma Space, Podskalská 31, as part of the thematic block Cooperation. Monika Mitášová and Cyril Říha will discuss the unclear boundary between the profession of theorist and architect. Cooperation is a thematic block of lectures, discussions, and a workshop, representing an unorthodox approach to possible collaborations within the architectural profession. Cooperation is not automatically positive, nor is it a call for architects or theorists to step out of an introverted position. The reassessment of individualism or isolation in the aftermath of the financial crisis, which caused a certain shift from seemingly unlimited resources and contracts to alternative methods, has disrupted the notion of what it actually means to be an architect or a theorist. Specific areas, questions, and especially subjective views on the current situation, the scene, and the state of architecture and its institutions will be presented in a moderated discussion from the Cooperation series at Norma Space.
