The Start Architecture cycle continues in the academic year 2007/2008. On the topic of Teaching Architecture and the Current Mission of the Architect Profession, the highest representatives of Czech architectural schools will speak alongside invited guests and the audience.

Zdeněk Zavřel / Graduate of the architecture program at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of CTU in Prague (1966) and Delft University of Technology (1981). In the 1970s a member of the "kindergarten" SIAL in Liberec, later Stavoprojekt Liberec. In 1978, he moved to the Netherlands, where he worked in the office of van den Broek en Bakema in Rotterdam, and from 1985 he became a partner of the office with E. Bakema. In 1989 he founded his own office Atelier Z, Zavrel Architekten. From 1980 to 1997, he served as an associate professor at TU Delft. In 1990, he became secretary of the Czechoslovak Architectural Foundation and in 1998 received the Award for Czech Architects Operating Abroad. In 2005, he was elected dean of FA ČVUT, where he continues to work. He is the author of numerous articles and publications, primarily on residential and energy-efficient architecture.

Irena Fialová / After studying at FA ČVUT and École d'Architecture Genève, she briefly worked at the ÚHA of the city of Prague, then after 1989 at the KAMA studio and D.A. Studio (D3A). In 1992, she co-founded the publishing house and magazine Zlatý řez. She is also actively involved in education (from 1995-1999 at FA TUL, since 2006 at FA ČVUT). She is an editor or co-editor of the books Difference/Topography of Contemporary Architecture, Zlatý Anděl / Jean Nouvel in Prague, The Dancing House, and PRG 2021 / Contemporary Architecture.

Lukáš Kohl / In 2000, he graduated from FA ČVUT, studio of Jan Bočan. He continued his studies at Clemson University in the United States, where in 2002 he completed the Masters in Architecture program with a thesis titled Differential Architecture. Since 2005, he has had his own architectural practice in the Czech Republic. He regularly contributes to the magazine ERA 21. He collaborated on the publication of Colin Rowe's book Mathematics of the Ideal Villa and Other Essays, which was published this year.
