The Works of Alena Šrámková
Alena Šrámková (*1929) can be considered the most significant woman architect in modern Czech architecture. She has made her mark in history with her buildings (the new departure hall of the Main Train Station, the New Yorker building on Můstku, the new Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University) as well as with her theoretical views, in which she emphasizes the moral justification of architectural form and therefore prefers values of strictness, lack of style, and timelessness. The lecture will provide an overview of her works from the 1950s to the present.
Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at 15:30 Institute of Art History, Czech Academy of Sciences, 1st floor, No. 117 Husova 4, Prague 1
