On Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 3:00 PM, a lecture by architectural historian Patrik Líbal will take place in room B510 at the Faculty of Architecture VUT in Brno, focusing on Le Corbusier's knowledge and overall view of ancient architecture, and especially how this experience is reflected in his practical and theoretical work.
Mgr. Patrik Líbal, Ph.D. (*1969) graduated from the Faculty of Arts of Charles University, majoring in Classical Archaeology (1989-95), and subsequently completed an internal postgraduate study there focusing on ancient traditions in architecture (2002). He teaches at the Institute of Classical Archaeology. He is engaged in the reception of antiquity in modern construction, modern architecture, and, from a typological perspective, primarily focuses on sacred and villa buildings. He is also involved in heritage conservation and is a member of the Czech National Committee of ICOMOS.
