Ivan Kroupa is one of the prominent Czech architects and educators of today. He studied at the Faculty of Architecture at the Czech Technical University in Prague, after which he gained experience in London, Paris, and Barcelona. Among the most significant projects of his team are the Ceremony Hall in Týnec nad Sázavou, the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art, and the recently opened Technological Building of the AAAD in Prague. For his work, he received the Ministry of Culture Award for contributions in the field of architecture in 2019, a nomination for the Mies van der Rohe Award, the Berliner Kunstpreis, and the Förderungspreis Baukunst. Over the last twenty years, he has also worked as an educator. Until 2008, he was the head of the studio and the Department of Design U1530 at the Faculty of Architecture, and then until 2021, he was the head of the Architecture II studio at the AAAD in Prague.
