Zlín - Zlín Centroprojekt, which primarily focuses on construction engineering and design activities in the field of industrial and civil buildings, achieved a net profit of 30.3 million crowns last year. This is an increase of approximately 68 percent year-on-year. The company's revenue from the sale of its own products and services amounted to 339.2 million crowns, remaining almost at the level of 2006. The higher profit was achieved due to a decrease in costs and also an increase in labor productivity. The information was obtained by ČTK from the company's annual report filed in the Collection of Documents.
Among the most significant contracts that Centroprojekt participated in last year were the construction of a new Obal Brankovice plant for EMS-PATVAG, a multifunctional teaching block with laboratories for the University of Defense in Brno, a plant for the production of special fibers for Slovkord in Senica, Slovakia, and the expansion of the wastewater treatment plant at the Royal Brewery in Krušovice.
Last year, the company also participated in the preparation of project documentation for the technical infrastructure for the planned strategic industrial zone in Holešov and developed the documentation for the wastewater drainage of municipalities above the Luhačovice reservoir.
The tradition of the Centroprojekt company dates back to 1925, when the design department of the construction company Baťa was established. In 1992, the company transformed into a joint-stock company and was subsequently privatized. The company, which employed an average of 163 employees last year, is one of the most significant domestic design and engineering firms.
To develop foreign activities, Centroprojekt previously established subsidiaries in Brazil, Chile, and Slovakia.
